Usually at skimmers, return fittings, light niches or underground lines. Ground movement and age are the most common causes. Leak detection finds the source before any digging.
Hot summers, hard water and chemistry swings wear the finish. Surface cracks can be patched, while structural cracks need an engineered repair and often a resurface.
Pumps, filters, heaters and timers wear out. Replacements are a chance to upgrade to efficient pool equipment.

Replacing equipment with different equipment, adding or relocating electrical or gas lines, and structural shell repairs generally require permits from LADBS, the City of Calabasas or Ventura County, depending on where you live. Like-for-like minor repairs usually do not. When a permit is issued for a pool remodel, the pool must also meet the California Swimming Pool Safety Act (at least two of seven drowning-prevention features) and federal anti-entrapment drain rules. We confirm the requirements for your job before work begins.
